An information monitoring and alert system is provided which registers subscribers and verifiers with a central alert system. The alert system provides an interface for the verifiers to submit queries relating to identification information. Information in this query is compared to the stored data submitted by the subscriber during registration and if a match occurs the subscriber is notified that the identification has been used for a certain purpose. The alert system only stores an encrypted value of the identification with only contact information which is preferably anonymous. Any other information is deleted after registration. The subscriber upon being alerted of the use of the identification is instructed to authorize or reject the transaction pertaining to the query.

L'invention concerne un système de contrôle d'informations et d'alerte, destiné à enregistrer des abonnés et des vérificateurs auprès d'un système d'alerte centralisée. Le système d'alerte comporte une interface destinée aux vérificateurs, qui leur permet de soumettre des requêtes relatives à des informations d'identification. Les informations contenues dans cette requête sont comparées aux données mémorisées et soumises par l'abonné lors de son enregistrement, et si une correspondance apparaît, l'abonné reçoit une notification lui indiquant que l'identification a été utilisée à une fin particulière. Le système d'alerte ne mémorise qu'une valeur cryptée d'identification, et ne contient que des informations de contact, qui sont préférablement anonymes. Toutes les autres informations sont supprimées après enregistrement. L'abonné, après avoir été alerté de l'utilisation d'identification, se voit demander d'autoriser ou de refuser la transaction liée à la requête.
