An idler assembly is disclosed for a shovel having a flexible track assembly. In an embodiment, the idler assembly comprises an idler gear operatively associated with the track assembly; a sleeve; a shaft, sets of splines on the shaft and on the sleeve sized for engagement, and connectors at ends of the shaft; at least one bearing block forming a bore therethrough; at least one bushing liner disposed within at least one bearing block; and at least one retaining device for constraining the shaft from withdrawal from the bearing block. A method for retrofitting a shovel with an existing idler assembly is disclosed. In an embodiment, the method comprises positioning at least one bushing liner within a bore of at least one bearing block; attaching an idler shaft and an idler gear together; and positioning the idler shaft within the at least one bushing liner.
La présente invention concerne un ensemble d~engrenage intermédiaire pour une pelle ayant une chenille souple. Dans un mode de réalisation, l~ensemble d~engrenage intermédiaire comprend un engrenage intermédiaire associé fonctionnellement avec la chenille, un manchon, un arbre, des ensembles de cannelures sur l~arbre et sur le manchon dimensionnés de manière à s~engager, ainsi que des connecteurs aux extrémités de l~arbre, au moins un corps de palier formant un alésage à travers celui-ci, au moins une chemise de douille disposée à l~intérieur d~au moins un corps de palier et au moins un dispositif de retenue destiné à empêcher le retrait de l~arbre du corps de palier. L~invention concerne également un procédé de rattrapage de pelle avec un ensemble d~engrenage intermédiaire existant. Dans un mode de réalisation, le procédé consiste à positionner au moins une chemise de douille à l~intérieur de l~alésage d~au moins un corps de palier, à fixer un arbre intermédiaire à un engrenage intermédiaire puis à positionner l~arbre intermédiaire à l~intérieur de la ou des chemises de douille.
