A means for determining the effectiveness of interferon therapy for individuals receiving such therapy for HCV infections. Assaying for the presence of anti-HCV IgG and anti-HCV IgM and determining a ratio of the pre- interferon therapy amount of anti-HCV IgG to the pre-interferon therapy amount of anti-HCV IgM provide means for indicating the likelihood of an individual's response to interferon therapy.

La présente invention se rapporte à des moyens permettant de déterminer l'efficacité de la thérapie par interférons chez des individus recevant une telle thérapie pour soigner des infections VHC. Les tests permettant de constater la présence de l'IgG anti-VHC et l'IgM anti-VHC ainsi que la détermination du rapport entre la quantité d'IgG anti-VHC avant la thérapie par interférons et la quantité d'IgM anti-VHC avant la thérapie par interférons sont des moyens d'indication quant aux probabilités d'obtention d'une réponse à une thérapie par interférons de la part d'un individu.
