C-4,143 IGNITION COIL Abstract of the Disclosure An ignition coil for developing a spark plug firing voltage. The coil is comprised of first and second parts that are formed of iron particles in a binder of electrical insulating material. The parts are connected by a core member that is formed of magnetic material. A primary winding is disposed about the core member winding and a secondary winding is disposed about the primary winding. An axially extending part that is formed of magnetic material is located outside of the secondary winding and magnetically connects the first and second parts.
