ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Disclosed is an ignition/flame-detection device for a burner combustion control system comprising a first series-circuit including an electrode, a pulse generator circuit, a bidirectional thyristor with two terminals and a burner, a second series-circuit including a capacitor, a resistor, and a secondary winding of transformer having a primary winding connected to an external AC power source, the second series-circuit being connected across the thyristor, a low-pass filter for smoothing a voltage appearing across the thyristor due to the presence of flame, and a flame detector circuit for detecting the smoothed voltage, thereby generating a flame detection signal. With such a circuit arrangement, an erroneous operation of the device is prevented and a flame detection sensitivity of the device is improved.
