An illuminated pool table comprises a pool table having a playing surface, a light generator, and a plurality of optical fibers which are arranged to receive light from the generator and illuminate the playing surface. In one embodiment, the optical fibers are arranged in a channel formed between the pool table playing surface and a rail of the pool table. The application relates to the technical fields of illumination and games. The invention solves the problem of shadows on the playing surface of pool tables and eliminates the need for suspended illumination devices which block players views and make the rearrangement of pool tables an expensive undertaking.

Cette invention concerne une table de billard illuminée comportant une surface de jeu, une source lumineuse et une série de fibres optiques couplées à la source lumineuse pour illuminer la surface de jeu. Selon une variante, les fibres optiques sont disposées dans un caniveau ménagé entre la surface de jeu et un des rebords de la table. Cette application relève de la technique d'éclairage de surface de jeu.
