The invention relates to an illuminating means (1), which comprises a radiation source (4) for emitting electromagnetic radiation in the optical range, a support base (2) and an electrode arrangement (3) with a first (7) and at least a second (8) electrode. The radiation source (4) is disposed on the support base (2) and connected by means of connecting wires to the electrode arrangement (3) so as to be electrically conductive, and the radiation source (4) is provided in the form of a first (5) and at least a second (6) semiconductor component. The first electrode (7) is connected to the first semiconductor component (5) via a first contact point (9) so as to be electrically conductive and the second electrode (8) is connected to the second semiconductor component (6) via a second contact point (10) so as to be electrically conductive. The distance of the first contact point (9) from a center point (11) or a line of symmetry (12) of the support base (2) is different from the distance of the second contact point (10) from the center point (11) or line of symmetry (12) of the support base.
