Abstract Pointers are normally used in classrooms or instructional settings to draw attention to material displayed on a screen. In this invention the pointer has a light source close to its tip, controlled by the operator, to improve the effectiveness of the pointer in drawing attention to a particular point or or area on a screen. The pointer may also have the means for generating intermittent light and sound to further enhance its function.
