A front light (100) and a reflecting liquid crystal display of the present invention includes a dot light emitting source (101), and a light guiding body (104) having a light incident surface (104a) to which light from the dot light emitting source (101) is incident and a light outgoing surface (104b) from which the incident light outgoes, and light from the dot light emitting source (101) is in a linearly emitting state at least when incident onto the light incident surface (104a). By so doing, it is possible to provide bright, inexpensive, low-power consuming front light (100) and reflecting liquid crystal display which do not cause shadows or a moire fringe from the dot light emitting source (101), or a light-dark difference in luminance.
La présente invention concerne un feu avant (100) et un afficheur à réflexion à cristaux liquide comportant une source lumineuse ponctuelle (101) et un guide de lumière (104). Ce guide de lumière comporte, d'une part une surface d'incidence (104a) sur laquelle la lumière de la source lumineuse arrive en incidence, et d'autre part une surface d'émergence (104b) d'où émerge la lumière en incidence sur la surface d'incidence. La lumière provenant de la source lumineuse (101) est un faisceau lumineux au moins lorsque la lumière arrive en incidence sur la surface d'incidence (104a). La lumière ne comporte aucune ombre provenant de la source lumineuse(101), des franges du moiré et des irrégularités de la distribution de la brillance. Il en résulte que ce feu avant (100) assure un éclairage très lumineux, peut être produit à bon compte, et fonctionne à faible consommation d'énergie. L'invention concerne également un afficheur à cristaux liquide à réflexion comportant un tel feu avant.
