A liquid crystal display apparatus using a backlight (104) for display includes: a video signal time compression circuit (101) for compressing a video signal in the time axis direction and outputting the time-compressed video signal; an LCD controller (106) for driving a liquid crystal panel (105) based on the time-compressed video signal; a source driver (107) and a gate driver (108); a motion detection circuit (2) for detecting the amount of motion of a display image based on the video signal; a PWM modulation pulse generation circuit (4) for generating modulation pulses different in frequency according to the detection result from the motion detection circuit (2); and an inverter (103) for lighting up the backlight (104) based on the modulation pulses, to thereby enable reduction of image contour blurring in a moving image and reduction of flicker in a still image.
La présente invention concerne un système d'affichage à cristaux liquides dont l'affichage est assuré par un rétroéclairage (104) et qui comprend un circuit (101) permettant de produire un signal vidéo et de le comprimer dans le temps, un contrôleur d'affichage à cristaux liquides (106) permettant de commander un panneau d'affichage à cristaux liquides (105), sur la base d'un signal vidéo comprimé dans le temps, une commande de source (107), une commande de grille (108), un circuit (2) permettant de détecter la quantité de mouvement d'une image affichée, sur la base du signal vidéo, un circuit (4) permettant de produire des impulsions de commande de lumière MID de différentes fréquences, en fonction des résultats de détection issus du circuit de détection de mouvement (2), ainsi qu'un onduleur (103) permettant d'allumer le rétroéclairage (104), sur la base de l'impulsion de commande de lumière. Cette invention permet de réduire le flou au niveau du contour d'une image en mouvement et de réduire le papillotement d'une image fixe.
