ABSTRACT The invention provides an image fiber and a method for fabri- cating a base material therefor. By arranging optical fiber strands at random pinholes or dislocations of the core arrangement, as seen in cross section of the image fiber, do not result. This gives a marked reduction in the moire pro- duced when the image fiber is connected to a TV camera.
