A compact image pickup device with high sensitivity is provided, which is suitable for a spatial information detecting apparatus. The image pickup device has a plurality of image pickup units (Ul) arranged on a semiconductor substrate. Each of the image pickup units (Ul) has a light receiving array of photoelectric conversion elements (Px) for generating electric charges corresponding to a received-light amount, a transfer array (Yl) of charge transfer elements (Py), an accumulation array (Zl) of charge accumulation elements each having a greater charge storage capacity than a saturation charge amount of the photoelectric conversion element, and a charge-amount adjusting portion (D4) configured to determine an amount of undesired electric charges to be separated from the electric charges generated by each of the photoelectric conversion elements. The transfer array and the light receiving array (Xl) are arranged in a line in a vertical direction (Dv). The accumulation array (Pz) is disposed adjacent to the transfer array (Py) in a horizontal direction (Dh).
L'invention concerne un dispositif de saisie d'image compact à haute sensibilité, qui convient à un appareil de détection d'informations spatiales. Le dispositif de saisie d'image comprend une pluralité d'unités de saisie d'images agencées sur un substrat semiconducteur. Chacune des unités de saisie d'image comprend : un réseau de réception lumineuse composé d'éléments de conversion photoélectrique destinés à produire des charges électriques correspondant à une quantité de lumière reçue; un réseau de transfert composé d'éléments de transfert de charge; un réseau d'accumulation composé d'éléments d'accumulation de charge possédant chacun une capacité de stockage de charge supérieure à une quantité de charge de saturation de l'élément de conversion électrique; et une partie d'ajustement de quantité de charge, configurée pour déterminer une quantité de charges électriques non désirées devant être séparées des charges électriques produites par chacun des éléments de conversion photoélectrique. Le réseau de transfert et le réseau de réception lumineuse sont agencés en ligne dans le sens vertical. Le réseau d'accumulation est disposé adjacent au réseau de transfert, dans le sens horizontal.
