TITLE OF THE INVENTION "IMAGE PICKUP DEVICE FOR A COLOR TV CAMERA" ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A color TV image pickup device for a color TV camera, said image pickup device comprising: (a) a lens system; (b) photoelectric converting portion having a transparent face plate, a color separation filter of stripe type, and a TV imager responsive to light rays applied thereto from said lens system via said face plate and said color separation filter for producing a color video signal; and (c) an optical block having a near infrared absorption filter, said optical block being placed between said lens sytem and said face plate such that one surface of said optical block is adhered to a surface of said face plate.
