ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An image pickup tube in which a face plate is provided on one surface with a color stripe filter and a thin glass plate is sequentially provided on its one surface with a transparent conductive layer and a photoconductive layer and in which the face plate and the thin glass plate are bonded together and then sealed to an envelope by means of sealing material and an electron gun is located within the envelope to scan the photoconductive layer. In the invention, the thin glass plate is made of alumino-silicate glass which results in a tube greatly superior to existing tubes.
