A jitter detector (22) for detecting jitter in a video signal (Sv) measures the vertical time (Stf(v)) of one field (v) of a video signal (Sv) to judge based on a vertical time signal (stf(v)) whether the video signal (Sv) jitters or not. When the number of continuous judgments (Cej) that the video signal (Sv) jitters is smaller than a first prescribed number (Tej), the video signal (Sv) is judged to be a jitter signal (Svj). When the number of judgments (Cnj) that the video signal (Sv) does not jitter is smaller than a second prescribed number (Tnj), the video signal (Sv) is judged to be a non-jitter signal (Svjn).

Un détecteur de gigue (22) conçu pour détecter la gigue dans un signal vidéo (Sv) mesure la période verticale (Stf(v)) d'un champ (v) de signal vidéo (Sv) de manière à évaluer en fonction d'un signal de période verticale (stf(v)) si le signal vidéo (Sv) est associé ou non à de la gigue. Lorsque le nombre d'évaluations continues (Cej) indiquant que le signal vidéo est soumis à de la gigue est inférieur à un premier nombre préétabli (Tej), le signal vidéo (Sv) est considéré comme un signal de gigue (Svj). Lorsque le nombre d'évaluations (Cnj) indiquant que le signal vidéo n'est pas associé à de la gigue est inférieur à un second nombre préétabli (Tnj), le signal vidéo (Sv) est considéré comme un non-signal de gigue (Svjn).
