The invention relates to large-dimension linear image sensors that function by running in a relative manner between the image and the sensor and are comprised of a number of linear bars that abut against one another in a staggered manner. In order to improve the design of the sensor, the invention provides that the bars (P1, P2, P3) are mounted on housings (B1, B2, B3), whose upper surface has an elongated rectangular shape provided, on two opposite sides of the rectangle (24, 26), with two extensions (30, 32) essentially covered by the ends of the bar, two adjacent housings being supported against one another along a respective extension of each. The staggered arrangement prevents blind zones, photosensitive points (40, 40') being present in the extensions (30, 32), and the offset between the two alignments of chips in a staggered manner is not much greater than the width of the chips. The invention is for use in high-resolution imagery.

L'invention concerne les capteurs d'image linéaires de grande dimension, fonctionnant par défilement relatif entre l'image et le capteur et constitués de plusieurs barrettes linéaires aboutées en quinconce. Pour améliorer la constitution du capteur, on prévoit selon l'invention que les barrettes (P1, P2, P3) sont montées sur des boîtiers (B1, B2, B3) dont la surface supérieure a une forme de rectangle allongé pourvu, sur deux côtés opposés du rectangle (24, 26), de deux extensions (30, 32) sensiblement recouvertes par les extrémités de la barrette, deux boîtiers adjacents étant appuyés l'un contre l'autre le long d'une extension respective de chacun. La disposition en quinconce évite les zones aveugles, des points photosensibles (40, 40') étant présents dans les extensions (30, 32), et le décalage entre les deux alignements de puces en quinconce n'est pratiquement pas supérieur à la largeur des puces. Application : imagerie de haute résolution.
