A multi-purpose imaging apparatus (10) comprising a body (14) and imaging means (36) housed within the body (14), wherein the body (14) is adapted to releasably engage an adaptor (12), the adaptor (12) having an aperture (108) extending therethrough that aligns with the optical axis (X) of the imaging means (36) when so engaged such that at least a portion of the optical axis (X) is not obscured and wherein the adaptor (12) has optics for illuminating a subject within the optical axis (X) for diagnostic purposes.

L'invention concerne un dispositif d'imagerie polyvalent (10) comprenant un corps (14) et un élément d'imagerie (36) logé dans ledit corps (14), ce dernier (14) étant adapté pour être en prise de manière amovible avec un adaptateur (12), ledit adaptateur (12) comportant une ouverture (108) s'étendant à travers et aligné sur l'axe optique X de l'élément d'imagerie (36) lorsque le corps et l'adaptateur sont en prise, de manière qu'au moins une section de l'axe optique X ne soit pas masquée.
