An imaging system is provided for viewing a target. The imaging system includes a first diffraction grating receiving collimated infrared light containing infrared (IR) object light generated by the target and IR laser light produced when the laser beam contacts the target. The diffraction grating disperses the object and laser light. A first lens is aligned with the diffraction grating to focus each wavelength at a separate focal point. A mask is disposed at the focal plane of the first lens. The mask is divided into a plurality of segments, each of which is uniquely associated with a spectral line of a wavelength of object or laser light. The mask segments include either a blocking region or an aperture. Each blocking region is located at a spectral line of laser light. The apertures extend between the blocking regions. The mask blocks the laser light and passes the object light. A second lens is aligned to receive and focus the object light passed through the mask onto an image plane. A second diffraction grating is positioned at the image plane of the second lens. The second diffraction grating recombines the object light into a single output image with the laser light removed therefrom.
L'invention est un système d'imagerie utilisé pour visualiser une cible. Ce système d'imagerie comprend un premier réseau de diffraction qui reçoit de la lumière infrarouge collimatée provenant d'une cible et de la lumière laser infrarouge produite quand un faisceau laser frappe cette cible. Le réseau de diffraction disperse la lumière produite par l'objet et la lumière laser. Une première lentille est alignée avec le réseau de diffraction pour concentrer chaque longueur d'onde à une distance focale distincte. Un masque est placé dans le plan focal de la première lentille. Ce masque est divisé en une pluralité de segments dont chacun est associé en exclusivité à l'une des raies spectrales de la lumière produite par l'objet ou de la lumière laser. Les segments du masque sont constitués de régions de blocage et d'ouvertures. Chaque région de blocage correspond à une raie spectrale de la lumière laser. Les ouvertures se trouvent entre les régions de blocage. Le masque bloque la lumière laser et laisse passer la lumière produite par l'objet. Une seconde lentille est alignée de façon à recevoir et à concentrer sur un plan image la lumière produite par l'objet qui a traversé le masque. Un second réseau de diffraction est placé au plan image de la seconde lentille. Ce second réseau de diffraction recombine la lumière produite par l'objet et la lumière laser qui en a été extraite pour produire l'image de sortie.
