Imidazole compounds having adenosine deaminase inhibitory activity represented by the formula (I): wherein R1 is optionally substituted aryl or optionally substituted heteroaryl, R2 is lower alkyl; R3 is hydroxy or protected hydroxy; X is 0 or S; and - A - is lower alkylene, its prodrug, or their salt. The compounds are useful for treating and/or preventing diseases for which adenosine is effective.
L'invention concerne des composés d'imidazole à activité d'inhibition de l'adénosine déaminase représentés par la formule (I), leur promédicament et leur sel. Dans ladite formule (I), R1 est éventuellement substitué par aryle ou hétéroaryle; R2 représente alkyle inférieur; R3 représente hydroxy ou hydroxy protégé; X est égal à O ou S; et - A - représente alkylène inférieur. Ces composés sont utilisés pour traiter et/ou prévenir des maladies pour lesquelles l'adénosine est efficace.
