Imidazole derivatives represented by general formula (I), salts thereof, hydrates thereof or solvates thereof, wherein A represents lower alkylene which may be substituted by hydroxy, aryl, lower alkylidene or oxo (=O), X represents methylene or -NR2-, R1 represents hydrogen, lower alkyl or aralkyl, and R2 represents hydrogen or lower alkyl. The compounds have a steroid 17-20 lyase inhibitory activity and are useful for treating and preventing prostatic cancer, prostatic hypertrophy, mammary cancer, mastopathy, uterus myoma, and endometriosis.
L'invention concerne des dérivés d'imidazole de formule générale (I), leurs sels, hydrates ou solvates. Dans la formule (I), A représente alkylène inférieur éventuellement substitué par hydroxy, aryle, alkylidène inférieur ou oxo (=O), X représente méthylène ou -NR?2¿-; R?1¿ représente hydrogène, alkyle inférieur ou aralkyle; et R?2¿ représente hydrogène ou alkyle inférieur. Ces composés présentent une activité inhibitrice d'une 17-20 lyase stéroïdienne et peuvent être utilisés pour le traitement et la prévention du cancer de la prostate, de l'hypertrophie de la prostate, du cancer du sein, de la mastopathie, du myome de l'utérus et de l'endométriose.
