ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Stablizing baths used in rapid reproduction processes of photographic elements which comprise stabilizers, hardening assitives and corrosion preventatives are improved in that certain heterocyclic compounds are incorporated in the baths. Excellent protection against corrosion is attained without a deleterious effect on the quality of the photographic material These heterocyclic compounds are of the formula (I), and may be used in their salt form: Image (I) in which: Rl represents a straight or branched chain alkyl group, an aminoalkyl group, an alkylaminoalkyl group, and acylaminoalkyl group, an aralkylaminoalkyl group, or an acylaminoalkyl group; R2 represents hydrogen, an alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group or an aryl group; or Rl and R2 together represent the carbon atoms necessary, together with the carbon and nitrogen atoms to which they are attached to form a heterocyclic ring, or a heterocyclic ring substituted by an alkly. cycloalkyl, or aryl group; and A represents the carbon atoms required to complete a 5- or 6-membered ring; a 5- or 6-membered ring together with at least one condensed aromatic ring, or a 5- or 6-membered ring together with at least one substituted condensed aromatic ring wherein the substituents are photographically acceptable.
