Substituted imidazolylquinoxalinedione derivatives represented by general formula (I) or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof and medicinal compositions comprising these compounds or salts thereof and pharmaceutically acceptable carriers and being useful as glutamate receptor antagonists, etc.. In said formula, wherein each symbol has the following meaning: A: (CH2)m or Ph-(CH2)p (Ph being phenyl); X: oxygen or NR4; R1: hydrogen, hydroxy or triazolyl, provided that X may be a bond when R1 is triazolyl; R2: hydrogen, nitro, halogenated lower alkyl, cyano, amino, mono- or di(lower alkyl)amino, or halogeno; R3 and R4: the same or different and each representing hydrogen or lower alkyl; n: 0, 1 or 2; m: an integer of 2 to 6; and p: an integer of 1 to 6.

La présente invention, qui concerne des dérivés d'imidazolylquinoxalinédione substitués représentés par la formule générale (I), concerne également certains de leurs sels galéniques, ainsi que des compositions pharmaceutiques comprennant ces composés ou certains de leurs sels associés à des excipients admis en pharmacie. Ces compositions conviennent notamment comme antagonistes des récepteurs de glutamates.
