ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Imidazolyl-oxime ethers are disclosed which have the general formula: Image I wherein Z is straight or branched chain alkylene containing from 1 to 4 carbon atoms; A is an aryl, cycloalkyl or thienyl group; R1 is halogen, nitro, C1-6 alkyl, C1-6 alkoxy, cyclo- alkyl, phenyl or phenoxy; X is a C1-8 alkylene group, an alkylidene group, or a methylidyne group; B is hydrogen, aryl, cycloalkyl or thienyl; R2 is halogen, nitro, C1 6 alkoxy, cycloalkyl, phenyl or phenoxy; m is 0 or an integer from 1 to 3; n is zero or one: q is one or is two when X is methylidene; p is zero or an integer from 1 to 3 with the provisos that when B is hydrogen, both n and p are zero and that when X is alkylidene, B is hydrogen. The compounds may be obtained by reacting metal oximates with halides of the required etherifying group or by reacting the corres- ponding ketones with O-substituted hydroxylamines. The products (I) possess anti-mycotic and bactericidal activity.
