ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: The invention relates to imidazolylethoxyindanic derivatives of the general formula (I): Image (I) wherein X is C=O, CH-CN or CH-COOH and the ether group (-O-) is bonded to the indanic group in the 4-, 5-, or 5-position, and to the nontoxic, pharmaceutically acceptable addition salts thereof. The invention also relates to a process for preparing these derivatives which are antithrombotic and platelet antiaggregating agents and are therefore useful in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases, respiratory dis- orders and inflammatory conditions. Furthermore, these derivatives can be used to reduce metastasis in a large number of tumors.
