ABSTRACT New imidazoquinoxaline compounds having the general formula Image wherein R3 is Image , Image , or CO2R' wherein R' is C1-6-alkyl, which may be straight or branched, C3-7-cyclo- alkyl or phenyl; and R4 is hydrogen or C1-6-alkyl; and 5-N-oxides thereof. The compounds are useful in psychopharmaceutical preparati- ons as anticonvulsants, anxiolytics, hypnotics, and in improving the cognitive function of the brain of mammals.
