The present invention is directed to an imine compound of the general formula: Image wherein R1 and R2 are the same or different and each represent a C1-C5 alkyl group, or R1 and R2 are combined together to form a C4-C5 alkylene group; R3 is a C1-C5 alkyl group, a alkenyl group or a C3-C4 alkynyl group. The imine compound of the present invention is useful as an intermediate in the production of agrochemicals and the like. The invention is also directed to an amide compound useful as a raw material for preparation of the imine compound and to production processes for these compounds.
