-12- "IMMERSION ENGINE HEATER LOCKING DEVICES" ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An immersion type engine heater includes a cylind- rical body insertable within a core hole in the engine block. A cap screw extends through the body and screw threadably en- gages a transverse channel member, the length of which is slightly less than the diameter of the core hole. A preform- ed bowed leaf spring with outwardly extending ends, is engaged between the body and the channel with the ends sliding in the channel and the effective length of the spring leaf is less than the diameter of the core hole when the cap screw is in the released position. The assembly is entered through the core hole and the cap screw tightens so that the channel moves towards the body flattening out the leaf spring and causing the ends to extend beyond the ends of the channel thereby to clamp the body to the wall of the core hole. Means are provided to seal the body with the core hole and the cap screw within the body.
