Method of producing purified caveolae are described, in which a sample of interest comprising plasma membranes is subjected to an immunoisolation method in which the sample of interest is incubated with an antibody that is specific for caveolin and which binds to caveolin in its native (oligomeric) state, preferably for a brief time period, and caveolae that are bound to the antibody are separated from other materials in the sample of interest. Purified caveolae produced by the methods, and uses for the purified caveolae, are also described.

L'invention concerne une technique permettant de produire des cavéoles purifiées, qui consiste à soumettre un échantillon d'intérêt comprenant des membranes cellulaires à une technique d'isolement immunologique. L'échantillon d'intérêt est mis à incuber avec un anticorps spécifique de la cavéoline, qui se fixe sur ladite cavéole à l'état natif (oligomère), de préférence pendant une courte durée. Les cavéoles liées à l'anticorps sont séparées des autres matériaux de l'échantillon. L'invention concerne également les cavéoles produites par ces techniques, et les utilisations des cavéoles purifiées.
