RAN 4093/34 ABSTRACT Process for the manufacture of a water-insoluble immunological diagnostic reagent having a specific gravity of about that of water comprising discrete particles of an immunologically inert carboxylated latex polymer having condensed thereto through an amide linkage a known immunolo- gically active material, characterized in that in a first step the immunologically inert carboxylated latex polymer substantially free from any contaminating amino compound is mixed with a water-soluble activating agent and in a second step the known immunologically active material is added;and the reagent obtained by said process.
