IMMUNOMETRIC ASSAY FOR HIGH MOLECULAR WEIGHT CARCINOEMBRYONIC ANTIGEN ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An improved solid phase immunometric assay for detection and quantification of high molecular weight carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) is disclosed. The assay is a sandwich type assay based upon the unique combination of two anti-CEA monoclonal antibodies, the 3d6 antibody and the COL-1 antibody. In the preferred configuration of assay, the 3d6 antibody is insolubilized on the solid phase and the COL-1 antibody is labeled. The assays may be performed in the forward, reverse, or simultaneous format.
