A method of making inosine-5'-monophosphate and its derivatives resistant to 5'-nucleotidase by chem-ically modifying inosine-5'-monophosphate to formula (I) wherein R is selected from the group consisting of an alkyl, alkoxy and secondary amino compounds whereby inosine-5'-monophosphate biological activity is retained in vivo.
