ABSTRACT This invention is devised for the purpose of preventing, or minimizing, the injuries, or possible fatalities frequently sustained by players engaged in bodily-contact sports such as ice-hockey, football and similar activities; it may also be adapted to be used around small ground surfaces; which may be used by small children; in order to prevent injuries to the children and to restrain them from wandering away and being lost; the invention is thus of general benefit; the invention consists of a series of panels attached to a series of frames by spring and bolt means, the frames are held in place by plates attached to pipes, attached by means to the frames; the pipes are removably installed in pipe supports, imbedded in concrete footings which are in turn imbedded into the surface of the ice- rink or playing field; it may be seen that when force is applied to the panels by players being checked or tackled into the panels, the panels recede, thus absorbing and dissipating the force and preventing or eliminating such injuries or fatalities.
