IMPACT CUSHIONING AND AVOIDING DEVICE FOR MOBILITY CANE Abstract During the normal procedure of using the mobility cane the cane tip sticks into all types of irregularities, grooves as well as projections. This sudden blocking of the tip slows down the user and exposes the user to bodily injury and excessive tiring of the wrist. The Impact Cushioning and Avoiding device cushions the shocks and provides the user enough time to react when the cane sticks. The improved operation results in a reduced tiring of the wrist and in a more confident and faster walk. The impact cushioning component can be adapted either to the bottom end or the handle end. It can also be built into any portion of the cane along its length. The Impact Cushioning comprises a sleeve which accepts telescopically a cane and a spring urging the cane in an outward direction from the sleeve. When the movement of the cane is suddenly blocked, the compression of the spring cushions the effect. The Impact avoiding component is adapted to the bottom end of the cane or the bottom end of the Impact Cushioning device comprising a rounded tip attached rotatable, and having two rotation axes, one generally perpendicular, and one parallel to the elongated dimension of the cane. The rotating tip smoothes the motion and reduces the wear. The combination impact cushioning and impact avoiding features cooperate to produce improved effects of both. The spring causes the rounded tip to skip over obstructions and the rounded tip reduces the occurrence of the troublesome obstructions.
