A device for controlling an impedance of a power cell circuit in a power cell charger system, each power cell circuit being coupled to other power cell circuits in parallel, the device comprising measuring means for measuring a charge current for the power cell circuit, impedance means for changing an impedance of the device such that the impedance of the power cell circuit changes when the impedance of the device changes, communication means for communicating with components external to the device and processing means for controlling and communicating with the measuring means, impedance means, and the communication means wherein the processing means transmits a value for the charge current to components external to the device and receives data from these components and the processing means controls the impedance of the device through the impedance means based on data received from the components external to the device.
