A humidifier having an overfill protection tube integral with the housing and having an upper open end to the outside and aligned with a maximum operating water level, and a lower end open to the inside and positioned below a minimum operating water level whereby air and mist existing within the humidifier under positive pressure are prevented passage to the outside through the tube as water is depleted from the maximum level to the minimum level.
