L'invention concerne un malaxeur à rotor à répartition automatique du couple d'entrainement à chaque extrémité. Le malaxeur est caractérisé en ce que la transmission de puissance à chaque extrémité du rotor est faite par au moins une chaîne entraînant un pignon coaxial au rotor, un limiteur de couple étant interposé entre ce dernier et le pignon et chacun des deux limiteurs de couple étant réglé à une même valeur limite de couple telle que la somme des deux valeurs soit légèrement supérieure au couple nominal d'entraînement du rotor. L'invention s'applique notamment aux malaxeurs pour défoncer les sols.
