An economically fabricated trigger for initiating crystallization of supercooled solutions in flexible plastic containers (11). The trigger comprising a thin substantially imperforate metallic strip (14) having a perimeter bounding a generally dish-shaped (30) or concave portion. The strip (14) further having a plurality of spaced, generally V-shaped elongated grooves (15-22) formed inwardly from the perimeter. The strip having two configurations between which it is distortable or bendable with snap-displacement causing the initiation of progressive exothermic crystallization of said salt in the solution (12). The scrip metal being typically impacted during fabrication to impact orient the molecular structure so as to aid the functioning of the disc or strip to produce or initiate crystallization.

L'élément de déclenchement comprend une bande métallique mince sensiblement non perforé (14) dont le périmètre délimite une partie généralement concave ou en forme de disque (30). Ladite bande (14) comporte par ailleurs à l'intérieur dudit périmètre plusieurs rainures espacées et allongées généralement en forme de V (15-22). La bande est pourvue de deux configurations, entre lesquelles on peut la déformer ou la plier avec déplacement vif, ce qui amorce la cristallisation exothermique progressive dudit sel contenu dans la solution (12). Le métal de la bande est travaillé au cours de la fabrication de manière à donner à sa structure moléculaire une certaine orientation, et faciliter par là le fonctionnement du disque ou de la bande qui doit produire ou amorcer la cristallisation.
