An implant for inserting into Schlemm's canal is proposed, wherein the circular Schlemm's canal is exposed at least at one location and carefully circularly dilated with an inserted and flexibly configured micro catheter and at the same time or subsequently injected with a high molecular viscoelastic material. The implant (35) insertable into the lumen (16) of Schlemm's canal (15) and consists of an elongated small tube having several openings or recesses (35a) that are distanced from each other by web shaped ring members (35c) and connected to the interior space (35e) with at least one in axial direction extending continuous connecting part (35b) with and arc shaped surface (35b'), which when in inserted condition is bearing in supporting manner against the inner wall (16') of the lumen (16). The single openings and recesses (35a) form a direct and permanently opened connection between the trabecular tissue (18) and each of the small channels (21', 22') of the corresponding channel system (20'), such that the natural trabecular drainage of the aqueous humor via the episcleral vein system into the blood stream is realized.
