ABSTRACT The invention relates to bone implants e.g. to replace teeth or parts of bone tissue. It contains metal parts (1) when strength is needed, which are shielded by a bioglass (e.g. Ca-P-glass) mixture attached to the metal. The glass can be made non-resorbable by metal-oxide additives. In addition the implant contains a Ca-P- glass mixture which is resorbable to bone or biomass. Hydroxyl- apatite (HA) can be added both to the resorbable (4) and non- resorbable (2) Ca-P-glass, so that (2) & (4) bind to tissue, to each other and to metal (1). Binding to bone can be enhanced by addition of an inter-layer between the two layers further from (4) and closer to (2) the metal, which inter layer is made of a mix- ture of slowly resorbable Ca-P-glass and HA. When high strength is not needed, the metal core is replaced by non-resorbable Ca-P- glass. The mixture of Ca-P-glass and HA is used also as a granule filler in bonecavities in the invention.
