The device of the present invention includes a modular, implantable catheterization port that is composed of a body portion (12), an interior port (24) and an exterior port (18). The interior and exterior ports are selectively attachable to the body portion such that the device can be assembled by a clinician at the skin entry site without compromising the position of other portions of the device within and outside of the patient. The device further includes a first skirt (20) and a second skirt (22) that surround the exterior port at its junction with the body portion. Both skirts are designed to gradually affix themselves into the surrounding tissues of the patient's body during the initial phase of healing. The first skirt is composed of a bio-absorbable material such that in subsequent phases of healing its connection to the surrounding tissues diminishes, leaving the second skirt to maintain a mature, secure, and permanent connection to the tissues. The bio-absorbable material can be selected prior to assembly in order to ensure that the first skirt is fully absorbed at the conclusion of the procedure, thus permitting an easy and less-invasive removal of the device from the patient.
L'invention concerne un dispositif comprenant un orifice de cathétérisme modulaire et implantable présentant une partie de corps, un orifice interne et un orifice externe. Les orifices interne et externe sont fixés de manière sélective sur la partie de corps, de manière que le dispositif puisse être assemblé par un médecin au niveau du site d'entrée de la peau sans compromettre la position des autres parties du dispositif à l'intérieur et à l'extérieur du patient. Le dispositif comprend également une première jupe et une seconde jupe entourant l'orifice externe au niveau de la jonction de celui-ci avec la partie de corps. Les deux jupes sont conçues pour se fixer graduellement sur les tissus environnants du corps du patient pendant la phase initiale de la guérison. La première jupe est constituée d'un matériau bio-absorbable de manière que dans les phases subséquentes de la guérison sa connexion aux tissus environnants diminue, la seconde jupe devant alors conserver une connexion mûre, sûre et permanente aux tissus. Le matériau bio-absorbable peut être sélectionné avant l'assemblage, afin de garantir que la première jupe soit totalement absorbée à la fin de l'intervention, permettant ainsi de retirer facilement et de manière moins invasive le dispositif du patient.
