The present invention provides tools and methods designed to aid in the placement of artificial facet joints at virtually all spinal levels. One aspect of the present invention is a measurement tool for installing an artificial cephalad facet joint including a fixation measurement element and a support arm element. This measurement tool assists in the selection and/or configuration of an artificial cephalad facet joint for implantation in a patient. Another aspect is a measurement tool for installing a caudad facet joint including a stem element and a trial caudad bearing surface element. This measurement tool assists in the selection and/or configuration of a caudad facet joint for implantation in a patient. Yet another aspect is a measurement tool holder including a measurement surface connected to a holder element. This tool holder assists in determining the measurements obtained with the caudad facet joint measurement tool.
La présente invention concerne des outils et des procédés destinés à faciliter la mise en place de facettes vertébrales lombaires artificielles au niveau de la quasi-totalité des étages vertébraux. Un aspect de la présente invention est un outil de mesure destiné à installer une facette vertébrale lombaire artificielle comprenant un élément de mesure de fixation et un bras de support. L'outil de mesure facilite la sélection et/ou la configuration d'une facette vertébrale lombaire céphalique en vue d'une implantation chez un patient. Un autre aspect est un outil de mesure destiné à installer une facette vertébrale lombaire caudale comportant une tige et une surface de support caudal d'essai. Cet outil de mesure facilite la sélection et/ou la configuration d'une facette vertébrale lombaire caudale en vue d'une implantation chez un patient. Un aspect supplémentaire est un support d'outil de mesure comprenant une surface de mesure reliée à un élément de support. Ce support d'outil facilite la détermination des mesures obtenues avec l'outil de mesure de facette vertébrale lombaire.
