Pump apparatus operated by remote energy transfer, for implantation in the body of a subject. The apparatus includes a pump chamber having an inlet and an outlet, and comprising an exterior wall, which defines and contains a volume of a fluid therein. The chamber has a one-way inlet valve at the inlet thereof and a one-way outlet valve at the outlet. A magnetic field-responsive element is coupled to the chamber, such that movement of the element in response to application of a magnetic field thereto causes the volume of fluid in the chamber to change.

Cette invention concerne un appareil de type pompe, actionnable par transfert d'énergie à distance et destiné à être implanté dans le corps d'un patient. Ledit appareil comporte une chambre de pompage munie d'une entrée et d'une sortie et d'une paroi externe définissant un volume susceptible de contenir un fluide. Ladite chambre comporte une soupape anti-retour d'admission au niveau de son entrée et une soupape anti-retour de refoulement au niveau de sa sortie. Un élément sensible aux variations de champ magnétique est couplé à la chambre, de telle sorte que le déplacement dudit élément en réponse à l'application d'un champ magnétique entraîne une modification du volume du fluide contenue dans la chambre.
