An implanter for inserting subcutaneous implants includes a handle for grasping the implanter during implantation, a hollow cannula receiving the implant, and a rod for releasing the implant from the cannula. The rod is longitudinally fixed within the handle while the cannula slides over the rod to release the implant. The cannula is moved over the rod by a sliding actuator mounted in a track of the handle. The actuator is locked in an extended position to prevent unintended release of the implant. Preferably, the implanter is a single-use device having an actuator locking feature preventing reuse.

Un appareil d'implantation permettant de réaliser des implantations sous-cutanées comprend une poignée permettant de saisir ledit appareil d'implantation pendant l'implantation, une canule creuse contenant l'implant, et une tige permettant de libérer l'implant contenu dans la canule. La tige est fixée longitudinalement à l'intérieur de la poignée tandis que la canule glisse sur la tige de façon à libérer l'implant. On fait glisser la canule sur la tige au moyen d'un actionneur coulissant disposé dans une glissière située sur la poignée. L'actionneur est verrouillé dans une position d'extension de la canule, de façon à empêcher une libération accidentelle de l'implant. De préférence, l'appareil d'implantation est à usage unique et il comporte un élément de verrouillage de l'actionneur destiné à empêcher une réutilisation.
