IMPREGNATED CASTINGS CHEMICALLY RESISTANT TO CONTACT WITH HALOCARBON REFRIGERANT ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A metal casting, containing connected pores, is impregnated with a halocarbon resistant barrier resin, consisting essentially of the admixture of a polyester resin, and from about 1 wt.% to about 70 wt.% of a poly- functional monomer modifier selected from the group con- sisting of trimethylolpropane triacrylate, divinyl benzene, pentaerythritol triacrylate or their mixtures, which after curing provides a casting which is resistant to chemical and solvent attack by chlorodifluoromethane and dichlorodifluoro methane and which is impervious to gases and liquids.
