ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method of impregnating solution spun textile fibers of difficultly-meltable linear polymers containing nitrogen linking atoms in the molecular chain. The process requires diffusing the impregnant in to the fibers while the latter are in a water-swollen "never-dried" state, followed by drying and irreversible collapse of the impregnated fibers.
