Improved particulate feed additives and methods are provided for enhancing feed utilization efficiency in a ruminant animal by adding to the feed of the animals a particulate feed additive comprising a nonionic surfactant to enhance the utilization of the feed by the animal and a sufficient amount of an antioxidant agent to substantially enhance the shelf life of the feed additive. The methods and compositions result in enhanced weight gain and/or milk production by the animal.

L'invention concerne des additifs alimentaires sous forme de particules perfectionnés et des procédés destinés à améliorer l'efficacité d'utilisation des aliments chez un ruminants par ajout à l'alimentation des animaux d'un additif alimentaire sous forme de particules comprenant un composé tensio-actif non ionique afin d'améliorer l'utilisation de l'alimentation par l'animal et une quantité suffisante d'un agent antioxydant afin d'améliorer sensiblement la durée de conservation de l'additif alimentaire. L'invention concerne enfin des procédés et des compositions permettant à l'animal de prendre du poids plus rapidement et/ou de produire plus de lait.
