An improved shaft sealing ring (16) for a portable paint gun (1). The sealing ring has a truncated frustro-conical surface (20) tapering from a radially extending retaining surface (30) toward a front end (22) of the sealing ring (16) and a radially extending flange (24) at a back end (26) of the sealing ring (16) with an outer peripheral groove (28) in an outer surface (21) of the ring body (17) between the flange (24) and the retaining surface (30). The ring (16) is installed by urging the front face through an opening having a diameter smaller than that of the face. The flange (24) is resiliently deflected to form a seal when the ring (16) is installed. A central bore (18) of the seal is sized to receive a shaft (14) with a seal between the shaft (14) and the ring (16) provided by a ridge (32) extending radially into the bore of the ring (16) at the back end thereof. The ridge (32) is urged against the shaft (14) by deflection of the flange (24).

La bague d'étanchéité présente une surface tronconique (20) infundibuliforme à partir d'une surface de rétention (30) s'étendant radiallement vers une extrémité avant (22) de la bague d'étanchéité (16), et un rebord radial (24) situé à l'éxtrémité arrière (26) de ladite bague d'étanchéité (16) présentant une gorge périphérique extérieure (28) se trouvant dans une surface extérieure (21) du corps annulaire (17), entre le bord (24) et la surface de rétention (30). La bague (16) est placée par pression de la face avant dans une ouverture d'un diamètre inférieur à celui de ladite face. Le bord (24) est défléchi de manière souple pour former un joint d'étanchéité lorsque ladite bague (16) est placée. Un alésage central (18) du joint est dimensionné pour recevoir une tige (14) avec un joint entre la tige (14) et la bague (16) matérialisé par une nervure (32) s'étendant radialement dans l'alésage de la bague (16) au niveau de son extrémité arrière. La nervure (32) est pressée contre la tige (14) par déflexion du bord (24).
