An improved blower configuration for implementing the Compression Path Control (CPC) process. By having the refrigerant liquid spray injectors fire directly into the compression chamber, unwanted interaction between the spray and the exhaust vapor is eliminated, facilitating a more accurate execution of the CPC cycle, thus maximizing the achieved performance improvement. The potential for rotor damage due to erosion effects is reduced by hard coating of the rotors and orientation of the spray path to reduce the relative velocity between the spray and the rotors.
