This invention relates to a novel process which comprises feeding a mixture formed from diphenylethane and bromine to a stirrable reaction mass comprised of bromine and a bromination catalyst to yield a decabromodiphenylethane wet cake which can be most economically treated to provide a high quality decabromodiphenylethane product.

Cette invention concerne un nouveau procédé qui consiste à introduire un mélange de diphényléthane et de brome dans une masse de réaction que l'on peut agiter, constituée de brome et d'un catalyseur de bromation, pour produire un décabromodiphényléthane sous la forme d'un gâteau humide qui peut être soumis à un traitement peu coûteux pour obtenir un décabromodiphényléthane de haute qualité.
