Stable, aqueous cleaner/degreaser compositions formulated in the form of true microemulsions and containing a builder component comprise: (a) at least one sparingly water soluble organic solvent characterized by: (i) having a water solubility in the range of approximately 0.2 to approximately 6 weight percent; (ii) not being a hydrocarbon or halocarbon; (iii) having one or more similar or dissimilar oxygen, nitrogen, sulfur or phosphorus containing functional groups; (iv) being a solvent for hydrophobic soilants; and (v) being present in an amount exceeding its aqueous solubility; (b) a builder; (c) a solubilizing additive consisting of from approximately 0.1 to approximately 100 weight percent of a surfactant and from 0 to approximately 99.9 weight percent of a coupler, the solubilizing additive being present in an amount not substantially exceeding the amount required to transform the combination of the organic solvent and said builder from the form of a true macroemulsion to the form of a microemulsion and less than that required to form a true solution; and (d) water. Such compositions exhibit improved cleaning/degreasing efficacy over compositions containing no builder component.
Des compositions nettoyantes/dégraissantes aqueuses stables formulées sous la forme de véritables micro-émulsions et renfermant un adjuvant contiennent: (a) au moins un solvant organique difficilement soluble dans l'eau, caractérisé en ce qu'il: (i) présente une hydrosolubilité dans la plage d'approximativement 0,2 à approximativement 6 % en poids; (ii) n'est pas un hydrocarbure ou un halocarbure; (iii) possède un ou plusieurs groupes fonctionnels semblables ou dissemblables contenant de l'oxygène, de l'azote, du soufre ou du phosphore; (iv) est un solvant pour contaminants hydrophobes; et (v) est présent dans une quantité excédant sa solubilité aqueuse; (b) un adjuvant; (c) un additif de solubilisation constitué d'approximativement 0,1 à approximativement 100 % en poids d'un tensio-actif et de 0 à approximativement 99,9 % en poids d'un copulant, l'additif de solubilisation étant présent dans une quantité n'excédant pas sensiblement la quantité nécessaire pour faire passer le solvant organique et ledit adjuvant combinés de la forme d'une véritable macro-émulsion à la forme d'une micro-émulsion, et inférieure à celle nécessaire pour former une véritable solution; et (d) de l'eau. Ces compositions présentent une efficacité de nettoyage/dégraissage améliorée par rapport aux compositions ne renfermant pas d'adjuvant.
